March - Malaria No More

Welcome to the Snyder Family! We are so glad you have joined our group!

This month we supported a great cause, Malaria No More. James had seen a campaign advertisement and thought it would be a good idea for our group. Malaria is a disease that is carried by mosquitos. In Africa, it's effects are devastating, killing a child every 30 seconds. We watched a movie, "The Gift of Growing Up" where we learned more about malaria and what is being done to stop it. James also read the group a story called, Nets Are Nice, where we learned how bed nets can prevent the mosquitos from biting mothers and children at night. We collected money to purchase these nets and were able to donate 11 to the cause. With Jordin Sparks (from American Idol) matching our donation we contributed 22 nets to the families in Africa! James was very proud to contribute $30 of his birthday money to such a great program. Way to go, James! :)
