The Spanel Family
The Spanels have lived in Olathe for 4 1/2 years. Greg works as a manager of business development for Propharma Group in Overland Park. When he is not working he enjoys golfing, sporting events and spending time with family and friends. Megan keeps busy as a stay at home mom of three boys. She enjoys reading, movies and spending time with the previously mentioned family and friends :). Jack is seven and in second grade. He loves reading, Star Wars, anything that has to do with nature and baseball. Ben is five and in kindergarten. He loves riding his bike, swimming, playing Wii and baseball. Sam is two and is just trying to keep up. He loves trains, books, parks and baseball.
This month's activity was inspired by a show that we happened to catch on Animal Planet. The show talked about the current crisis concerining our world's frog population. Frogs are being affected by a deadly fungus called Chytrid. Jack was very interested and concerned so we decided we wanted to know more and see how we could help. It is always fun to help close to home so we called Ernie Miller and one of the naturalist's there said they would be glad to do a program to help us learn more about this situation. We plan to collect donations for Ernie Miller to help keep our frog population thriving.
